25068. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION SESSION
To receive reports from outside bodies.
- Report from C. Cllr Hill. The building of pylons between Grimsby and Whaplode is under consideration and a new application for pylons between Boston – Corby Glen – North Leicestershire has been submitted. Corby Glen will be the host of a substation to be built. The build is scheduled for 2029. Lincolnshire is being targeted and more pylons = more solar and wind farms.
- A plan is being worked on for Aisby to help with the flooding.
- Report from D. Cllr Trotter. Cllr Trotter gave her apologies but she was having to deal with an emergency. She would like everyone to know that she will be calling in the planning application S25/1194, and she will help as much as she can.
- Questions or Points raised by residents and members of the public. A resident pointed out that the connection to the Londonthorpe (distribution) substation was approved in 2024 and Glebe Farm Solar Ltd was also registered in 2024. A further resident asked if there was any way that the Council could get to know about applications any earlier. Unfortunately, this is not possible.
Residents are worried about flooding next to the road, access to the site during the construction phase.
- Oasby Beck. The clerk will contact Tom Amblin-Lightowler to see if a visit can be arranged.
