Community

The parish  houses around 350 residents and  is home to an array of talented folk.  Collectively musicians, mummers, artists, actors, technical wizards, cooks and bottle washers ensure community events are well organised, well attended and great fun. Neighbours, friends, family and visitors are assured of a warm welcome to whatever is going on!   Parish activities include  yoga, Pilates, new age kurling, fitness classes, film & themed evenings & quizzes.

Between Heydour, Oasby and Aisby we have a full set of essential village amenities:

Heydour is home to St Michael and All Angels Church.  Contact  either 01400 231145 or ancaster.rectory@btinternet.com.  Services are held regularly (and also at neighbouring churches of Ancaster, Rauceby, Welby, Kelby and Wilsford).

Aisby houses the Parish Hall,  the Millennium Green and in lower Aisby the Village Green.  The Parish Hall is transformed regularly from Tudor Palaces (complete with swans), to Medieval Courts (shields and armoury) to romantic candlelit dining rooms.  OK so a bit of imagination is required but this is usually aided by the very competitively priced bar - thanks to all our helpers!

The Millennium Green (funded in 2000 by the then Millennium Commission) is a wonderful facility and hosts the fete and Pimms Tent, a children’s playground and seating for quiet recreation.

Oasby, a conservation area, is home to the wonderful Houblon Inn; regretfully this is closed for the moment.
